Modular Transitional Apts Now Open At Palm Springs Homeless Navigation Center

The 2nd phase of the Palm Springs Navigation Center on the north side of town is rady for occupancy. Ribbon-cutting is set for 11 in the morning Monday Sept 30th 2024.

Martha’s Village and Kitchen is handling all operations at the facility at 3589 McCarthy Road in Palm Springs.

The event will include remarks from the following leaders involved in the project:

  • Palm Springs Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein and members of the City Council
  • Hafsa Kaka, Senior Advisor on Homelessness, Office of California Governor Gavin Newsom
  • Congressman Ken Calvert
  • Assemblyman Greg Wallis
  • Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez
  • Greg Rodriguez, Deputy Director for Government Affairs and Community Engagement, Riverside County Housing & Workforce Solutions
  • Rosa Verduzco, Chief Operating Officer, Martha’s Village and Kitchen

Phase 2 of this Navigation Center will house residents in modular transitional units…two bedroom, 1 bedroom and studio units are available.  That all have kitchenettes, and bathrooms.

65 of those units are for homeless adults, 10 units are for homeless teens, and  five units are for families.

There is a children’s play area, a dog park, and green space.

The Center also provides wraparound services for residents dealing with issues besides homelessness including mental health, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Other services include:

  • Health and wellness services
  • Educational and employment services
  • Resident meal services
  • Intensive case management
  • Behavioral health services
  • Assistance with securing health insurance benefits, disability and Social Security.
  • Transportation assistance
  • 24/7 onsite staff and security

Earlier this year, the City of Palm Springs opened the adjacent Early Entry Facility, which is by referral only from the Palm Springs Access Center. For more information, visit EngagePalmSprings.com.
