Millions Of Job Openings In The U-S These Days; Young People Finding Newer, Hipper Ways To Make Money

When 2023 started, the number of available jobs in the U-S was down slightly from the number of jobs  available at the end of 2022.

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey shows there were 10.82 million jobs available in the U-S in January 2023.

But in December 2022, there were 11.42 million jobs available.

Many jobs are going begging.

60 million Americans were working as free-lancers in 2022, for either their full-time job, or as a side hustle.

Younger generations like Gen Z, and Millenials prefer independent work options over being pinned down to working for one employer, alongside nasty co-workers and even nastier bosses.

The Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey from the fed,  comes as Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has described the labor market as “extremely tight.”
