Michael Collins Passes; Member Of 1969 Apollo Moon Mission Crew

In 1969, while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were walking on the moon, another astronaut was at the helm of the Apollo 11 command module, piloting it flawlessly around the moon 30 times.

on Wednesday April 28th 2021,  the family of  Michael Collins is mourning the loss of the retired astronaut and  Air Force major general.

Collins was 90, and died after a battle with cancer.

In addition to his career in the Air Force and with NASA, Michael Collins worked at the U S State Department and was  Director of the National Air and Space Museum.
