The Miami Marlins are the first major sports team in the U.S. to have women leading day-to-day operations.

The MLB team has promoted Caroline O’Connor to President of Business Operations.

She’ll oversee the club’s business operations including sales, marketing and community outreach.

She  is the second woman to be named an MLB team president.

O’Connor has been with the Marlins since 2017 and was most recently Chief Operating Officer.

Kim Ng, also a woman,  is the General Manager of the Miami Marlins.

But regardless of what is happening in the front office, the team on the field is one of the worst in the Major Leagues.

In 2022, the Miami Marlins won just 69 games out of 162.
