As a precautionary measure in response to a recent increase in local COVID-19 cases, the City of Palm Springs would like to advise the community that beginning Monday, August 2nd 2021, City Staff and customers will once again be required to wear face coverings indoors at City Hall and all other City facilities.

The City is following guidance recently given by the County of Riverside, California Department of Public Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that recommends vaccinated individuals wear face coverings in public indoor settings.

With that in mind, face coverings will now be required regardless of vaccination status:
• For all staff and customers indoors in public settings
• For all staff outdoors in crowded settings
• For all staff outdoors in settings that involve sustained close contact with other people who are either unvaccinated or with unknown vaccination status In addition, face coverings will be made available for all customers who come in to City facilities.

The City Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, August  4th 2021  to consider additional face covering policy, mandatory vaccinations and/or testing for City Staff, and other possible changes to COVID-19 policy response.

The 4:30 p.m. meeting will be held by teleconference, via Zoom. Public comment is desired and welcome. Residents who wish to speak at the meeting may submit their comments to the Office of the City Clerk prior to the meeting no later than 4 p.m. The phone number is
(760) 323-8204. At the appropriate time, a staff member will call members of the public to provide testimony.

Written comments may be submitted to the City Council electronically. Materials may be emailed to [email protected]

Transmittal prior to the start of meeting is required. Any correspondence received during or after the meeting will be distributed to the
City Council and retained for the official record.

Residents can watch the Council meeting live online at www.palmspringsca.gov, on the City’s YouTube channel, or on Palm Springs Community Television Channel 17.  To review the Council agenda, visit www.palmspringsca.gov.
