Man Driving Erractically Was Drunk; Had Felony Arrest Warrant

A 26 year old Coachella man is under arrest, his erratic driving leading deputies in Palm Desert to arrest him after a short pursuit.

 

Turns out he was wanted on a felony warrant.

 

Just after 11 in the morning on Tuesday August 6th, Jose Matus was driving his Toyota Versa on  Fred Waring Drive at Town Center Way.

 

But he refused to stop when deputies tried to pull him over.

 

Matus crashed his car into another vehicle at Highway 74 and Shadow Mountain Drive, but kept on driving until deputies grabbed him outside a residence on Kavanaugh Court.

 

Now Matus is jailed without bail on the felony warrant, felony evading, DUI, and hit and run.

 

No one was hurt.
