Major Road Work Set In Palm Desert

 PALM DESERT – FRED WARING DRIVE REHABILITATION PROJECT

Concrete rehabilitation work on Fred Waring Drive between Monterey Avenue and Highway 111 will commence on Monday, August 14th 2023.

The project will also repair a damaged section of the Number 3 (slow) lane of southbound Monterey Avenue for 600 feet south of Fred Waring Drive.

This project will rehabilitate the street section, repair storm drain lines, and bring curb ramps and sidewalks into compliance with ADA requirements.

The rehabilitation project is expected to take 75 – 90 calendar days to complete.

Working hours will be between 6:00 a.m. and the early afternoon. Work will be phased in sections, so the road will remain open, but traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Access to businesses will remain open during the construction process.

Significant delays are expected. Commuters are strongly encouraged to allow extra time or use alternate routes, including Highway 111, Park View Drive, and Country Club Drive.
