Local Tribal Government Diversifies With Opening Of Marijuana Dispensary
Metrc, a company that provides cannabis regulatory technology systems in the U.S., has a new contract to work with the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in Coachella as the tribe joins the marijuana market.
This is the first time Metrc has teamed up with a Tribal government.
A dispensary is already open adjacent to Spotlight 29 Casino on Dillon Road in Coachella. Metrc will streamline operational and compliance practices for the Tribe’s cannabis operations and supply chain.
Metrc will work with the Tribe to ensure regulatory compliance, help fight the illicit marijuana market, and safeguard the health and well-being of consumers. Metric will tracking all activities dealing the creation of cannabis-based products, including origin, testing results, handling, and chain-of-custody information, through the company’s unique software system.
