Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon will hang onto his job for at least 2 more years.

A signature drive to force Gascon to face voters in a recall election, has fallen short of the number of valid signatures needed.

There was no oversight during the verification of the signatures.   It was all done by government officials behind closed doors.

The Los Angeles County Clerk’s Office says it has checked all  716-thousand signatures that were turned in, and says 2-hundred thousand of them were not valid.  567-thousand valid signatures were needed to force a recall election.

Crime has skyrocketed under Gascon’s leadership, as he shortens prison sentences,  reduces charges, and lets convicted criminals go free.
