Is Narcan Coming To Your Workplace?

California Governor Gavin Newsom could sign another bill into law, and this one could add to your duties at work.

The bill  would require Narcan -Naloxone nasal spray be included in first aid kits at all workplaces in California.

Right now, no state requires that.

Narcan is used to reverse a drug overdose, as it is the antidote to opioids/fentanyl.

Who drafted the bill?   Assemblyman  Matt Haney, who says lawmakers have a responsibility to save as many lives as possible.

It would also put the onus on workers to intervene if their co-workers overdose on the job.   That is not likely in the job description of most workers right now.

Drug overdose deaths in Kentucky fell nearly 10% in 2023, marking a second straight decline in the fight against an addiction epidemic that’s far from over, Gov. Andy Beshear said Thursday.
