Human remains found near Joshua Tree in January 2021 have been identified as a woman who went missing in June 2020.

Erika Lloyd, who was from Walnut Creek in Northern California, was reported missing by her family on June 17th 2020. 

Days later, her car was discovered abandoned off Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms. 

The woman had traveled to Southern California to visit Joshua Tree National Park. 

The cause of her death is unclear.
