House Falls…To The GOP; Old Guard Bailing; Dem Leaders Looking For Young Blood

A younger generation of House Democrats will have to step up on Capitol Hill.

After losing their House majority to Republicans,  in the 2022 Midterm Election, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has decided  won’t seek re-election to House Democratic leadership.  Republicans will pick the next House Speaker.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer  won’t seek that position either.

And Majority Whip James Clyburn says he is looking for what he calls “a new generation of leaders”.

He specifically mentions New York’s Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark of Massachusetts, and Pete Aguilar of California.
