Hit & Run Leaves One Dead; Driver Facing Charges
Desert Hot Springs Police have arrested a man suspected of being the hit-and-run driver in a fatal traffic collision that occurred late Friday night August 9th 2024.
A car ran over a person walking near North Indian Canyon Drive and Pierson Boulevard in DHS just before 11 at night.
The person was walking south in the northbound lanes of Indian Canyon Drive, and the car was heading north in the northbound lanes.
The pedestrian, a 20-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs, died at the scene.
The driver was 20 year old Mason Poling. He fled the scene but is now in custody facing felony hit and run charges.
