Hefty Pay Raise On The Way For RivCo Supervisors…And They Can Thank Themselves For It

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has approved pay raises for the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.

Who voted in favor of giving themselves a raise?

Supervisors V Manuel Perez who represents the Coachella Valley, Yxistian Gutierriez who represents the Banning Pass, Moreno Valley, Hemet and San Jacinto, and Chuck Washington who’s district covers Temecula and Menifee.

Who voted against the pay raise for themselves?  Kevin Jeffries from the Riverside and Lake Elsinore area.  Jeffries has show integrity turning down every pay raise the Supervisors gave themselves for the past decade.

Oddly, one Supervisor Karen Spiegel, who will accept the pay raise…abstained from voting on this issue.  This way, she can tell her constituents she did not vote in favor of the pay raise, while at the same time, she will benefit by accepting the pay raise.

The pay raise will boost the Supervisors annual pay to 226-thousand dollars.  The Supervisors also get more than 6-thousand dollars a year in travel allowance money.

By comparison, Supervisor Kevin Jeffries salary remains at a paltry 143-thousand dollars a year.

The Supervisors will also vote to hike the pay for the District Attorney and Sheriff putting their salaries close to 350-thousand dollars a year.

Increases for the  Auditor-Controller, the Assessor-Clerk-Recorder and the Treasurer-Tax Collector in the County will put them at almost a quarter of a million dollars a year in salary.

Lots of banknotes are flying against white background.
