The bad news about bad conduct on the part of highly-regarded professionals at USC continues.
This time, it’s a lawsuit against USC and Professor Choong Whan Park.
It’s been filed by a woman who graduated from USC in 2019, and served as a student assistant to him from 2016 to 2019.
The lawsuit claims Park sexually abused, assaulted and harassed the victim using his physical size, and his authority at the university to inflict emotional distress on the victim and 3 other women who held the position of student assistant.
All 4 victims and Professor Park are Korean American.
The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
The plaintiff contends she suffers from trauma and says her professional and financial development have been damaged.
In March 2021, USC paid an 852 million dollar settlement to 700 women who claimed they suffered sexual abuse at the hands of now retired USC Gynecologist Dr George Tyndall.
