Gang Task Force Busts Two More In Cathedral City

While Thursday was just another nice weather day for most of us in the desert, deputies were hard at work chasing down some bad people.

On Thursday, September 7th  2023, at 9:30 a.m., the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of Riverside County Gang Task Force Region 2, served a search warrant at a residence on Verona Road in Cathedral City. 

They found a 9mm semi-auto handgun and .40 caliber semi-auto handgun. The .40 caliber handgun was previously reported as stolen. 

Officers arrested a convicted felon, 29 year old Javier Estrada Jr.  of Cathedral City for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Committing a Felony While on Bail, and Violation of Supervised Release. 

Also under arrest 35 year old Sarah Gaffney of Cathedral City for Possession of Fentanyl. Both Estrada Jr. and Gaffney were booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
