Firebirds Thrill Sell-Out Crowd With Come-From-Behind Win;  Now Tied For First Place

The Coachella Valley Firebirds fell behind the Ontario Reign early, and trailed all night long.

 

But in front of a packed house at Acrisure Arena, the Firebirds tied the scored at 6 -all with about 8 minutes left.

 

Andrew Poturalski’s wrap around goal with one minute and 9 seconds left in the game gave the Firebirds their first lead of the game and they pulled out the 7 to 6 win.

 

Christopher Gibson did not give up a goal as he relieved Joey Daccord in the Firebirds net late in the 2nd period. 

 

The Firebirds are now tied for first place in the AHL’s Pacific Division.

 

The Firebirds have games in San Jose Dec 30th and 31st to close out 2022.
