Firebirds Sweep Ontario In 3; Bounce Back from Early Deficit To Win Game 3 On The Road; Head To Western Conference Finals

It is on to the Western Conference Finals for the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Sunday night in Ontario,  the Firebirds gave up 2 goals in the first period and trailed the Reign.  But a goal about 6 minutes into the 2nd period and another goal 5 minutes later tied the game for the Firebirds.

In the opening minute of the 3rd period,  Kole Lind scored his 2nd goal of the night, and Chris Drieger in goal blanked Ontario the rest of the way.

Sunday’s victory for the Firebirds gives them a 3-nothing sweep of Ontario after a 5 to 3 win in Game two last Friday night at Acrisure Arena.

In Friday’s game, the Firebirds scored the 1st 3 goals of the game, then hung on for the win.  In Sunday’s game, the Firebirds scored the last 3 goals of the game, to come from behind and win.  The Firebirds have won 6 straight playoff games.

They will play in the Western Conference Finals against Milwaukie or Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids leads that series 1 game to none.

Firebirds win vs Ontario on May 17th and 19th 2024 to sweep the series 3-0 vs Ontario.
