Firebirds Knock Off Milwaukee; Head To Calder Cup Finals For 2nd Straight Season

Four goals in the first period were all the Firebirds would need as they skated off with a 5 to 1 win in Milwaukee last Saturday night, winning the Western Conference Finals and moving on to the Calder Cup Finals.

John Hayden thad the 3-goal hat trick for the Firebirds.

Chris Driedger had 32 saves.

But the Firebirds will have to wait to find out who they play, where they play and when.

The Cleveland Monsters defeated Hershey 5 to 1, and now trail in that series 3 games to 2.  More than 13-thousand fans were at that game in Cleveland Saturday night.

Game 6 is Monday June 10th in Hershey.  If Hershey wins, the Bears move on to the Finals against the Firebirds.

If Cleveland wins, that would force a Game 7 in Hershey Wednesday June 12th.
