Firefighters spent the overnight hours Monday night June 29th into Tuesday morning June 30th knocking down hot spots, watching for flare-ups after a brush fire burned 20 acres in the hills near Tramway Road and North Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.
The fire started at 11 o’clock Monday morning June 29th, 2 miles south of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
Two firefighters sustained moderate injuries and were treated at the hospital.
Crews were aided by a switch in wind direction, which allowed them to quickly get the upper hand on the fire, and keep it from spreading to residential areas to the south.
75 firefighters were aided by air tankers and helicopters
