Finally…Police Chief Getting Sworn In

Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills is already on the job, but he’s not officially sworn in just yet.

He will be…at  5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18th 2021 when the City Council meets at the City Council Chamber and Chief Mills will make brief remarks.

Then the Council members will hold the rest of the meeting via Zoom.

Among the agenda items…a proposed reparations program to reimburse people evicted from Section 14 back in the 1960’s, and more talk about a proposed homeless center on McCarthy Road in the Desert Highland Gateway Estates on the north end of town.

And should the City of Palm Springs send a letter to the Desert Community College District about the slow-moving West Valley campus of College of the Desert where the old Palm Springs Mall once stood, and C-O-D’s interest in moving a proposed auto technician program and campus out of Cathedral City?

Wanna talk about it?  Residents can submit their comments to the Office of the City Clerk no later than 5 p.m. The phone number is (760) 323-8204.

Written comments can be emailed to [email protected]
