Fight For Oil And Natural Gas Heats Up In CA

Oil and gas groups in California say they have gathered enough signatures to repeal a measure which bans new oil and gas wells within 32-hundred feet of populated places.
The campaign is known as Stop The Energy Shutdown, has collected nearly one-million signatures to repeal a new law in California.
623-thousand of those signatures must be verified by the California Secretary of State’s office in order to put a measure on the ballot to let voters decide if they want to stop oil and natural gas drilling in California.
If there are enough valid signatures, the ban on oil and gas wells in California would be stopped until voters have their say at the ballot box.
The new law banning natural gas and oil wells is set to take effect on January 1st 2023.
