A federal judge has granted Goldenvoice, the organizers of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, a temporary restraining order against Live Nation Entertainment.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has become known as CoachellaFest, or Coachella for short.

Goldenvoice¬† filed a trademark infringement suit in mid-December 2021 over an event called ‘Coachella Day One 22.’

It is a New Year’s Eve event¬† set for December 31st 2021 featuring Shaquille O’Neal produced by the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, scheduled for the Tribe’s outdoor venue called Coachella Crossroads.

That event is being advertised on Live Nation’s Ticketmaster platform.

Goldenvoice claims Coachella Day One 22 intentionally causes ‘consumer confusion and false association’ with the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner granted the restraining order to prevent Live Nation from promoting and selling tickets to the Coachella Day One 22 event online.
