Early Morning Crash On Highway 62 Kills One Person

An early morning crash on Highway 62 on the edge of Desert Hot Springs Thursday May 16th 2024, has left one person dead.
Just before 2:30 in the morning, the CHP was called to State Route 62 northbound near Indian Canyon Drive.
The driver of a Hyundai was coming down State Route 62 and was taking a left hand turn onto Indian Canyon Drive.
It crashed into a Dodge heading up State Route 62.
The Dodge continued through the intersection then crashed into a streetlight, killing the driver, a man from 29 Palms.
The driver of the Hyundai, a man from Yucca Valley, sustained minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors.
