On June 24, 2021 at 6:00 A.M, members of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team and the Coachella Community Action Team with the assistance of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant at two homes on Filmore Street in Thermal, and Martinez Road in Thermal. The search warrant stemmed from a firearm brandishing investigation.
Deputies confiscated firearms, ammunition, nearly 9 and a half pounds of processed cannabis, methamphetamine, and narcotic sales equipment.
A stolen vehicle was also recovered.
38 year old Malcom Morreo of Thermal was arrested for brandishing a firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and violation of felony probation.
38 Maria Muniz of Thermal is a documented criminal street gang member. She was arrested for witness intimidation, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
31 year old Jose Alba of Thermal was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale, possession of an unregistered firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
34 year old Christe Valdivia of Thermal was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, and a felony weapons possession warrant.
All four subjects were booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.
