DHS Felons Arrested In Cathedral City

On Wednesday, September 21st  the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force was out looking for criminals in Cathedral City. 

And they found some.

Gang Task Force Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Date Palm Drive and Tortuga Road. 

Inside the vehicle were two men from Desert Hot Springs. 

49 year old  Mohammad Ali Mir, and  32 year-old Andrew Gamboa.

Mir is on active state parole.

Offices found a loaded 9mm handgun without any identifying serial numbers,  commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun”.. 

Additionally, they found suspected methamphetamine and evidence indicative of narcotics sales. 

Both Mir and Gamboa were arrested at the scene. Mir is charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales, Possession of a Loaded Firearm with Narcotics and Violation of Parole. 

Gamboa is charged with being a  Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Committing a Felony While on Bail, and Driving While Addicted to Drugs. 

Both men are locked up at the County Jail in downtown Indio.
