The week of May 24th the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation will be vaccinating middle and high school students in the Desert Sands Unified School District and the Palm Springs Unified School District with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.
Rite Aid Pharmacy is partnering with the Healthcare District in Desert Sands, and Desert Care Network is partnering with the Healthcare District in the Palm Springs School District.
Any student between 12 and 17 can get the vaccine, as long as a parent or guardian completes a consent form, and goes with the student to the vaccination clinic, and provides a form of identification (student ID card is fine) and an insurance card if applicable.
First and second doses will be provided over the next several weeks at mobile clinics set up at multiple school campuses.
Students’ eligible family members and other Coachella Valley residents also can register to receive the vaccine. In addition to Pfizer, the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine will be available for adults.
