Deputy Survives Early Morning Confrontation; Suspect Facing Serious Charges
The California Department of Justice is leading the investigation into a recent deputy-involved shooting in Riverside County, while a San Diego man is jailed for murder, attempted murder of a peace officer, mayhem and resisting an officer with violence.
The whole thing started on Tuesday June 11th 2024 just after 1 in the morning on 6th Street in Corona.
A deputy on patrol attempted to apprehend 2 suspects.
The suspects ran and the deputy chased them, until 33 year old Eric Nourani lunged at the deputy as the deputy was turning the corner near a building.
As the deputy was fighting with the Nourani, a woman started attacking the deputy too.
The deputy fired his service weapon, hitting the woman.
Good samartians showed up and helped detain Nourani.
The woman was rushed to the hospital and died there.
The deputy was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, and Nourani had just minor injuries.
