Deputies Nab Violent Felon; Squad Car Gets Clipped By Train

A Cathedral City man wanted for attempted murder and kidnapping, has been apprehended.

On Thursday, September 8th  2022, at approximately 7:28 AM, Deputies were attempting to capture a 32 year old Adalberto Raygoza who was running near the railroad tracks near Bob Hope Drive and Ramon Road on the border of Cathedral City and Rancho Mirage.

Deputies abruptly stopped their patrol vehicles and chased Raygoza on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Raygoza was taken into custody without incident.

While apprehending Raygoza, a passing train caused damage to an unoccupied patrol vehicle which was parked near the railroad tracks.

No injuries occurred as a result of this incident.

Raygoza was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on several violent felony charges,  including Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, False Imprisonment, and Spousal Abuse.
