Beware of the latest scam in California. This one involves fake Covid-19 at-home tests.
The demand for those tests is rising quickly, but most stores have none in stock.
Part of the problem is the quick onset of the omicron variant at a time when it seemed as though Covid-19 was easing.
But the new variant sent people rushing to make appointments to get tested.
That rush depleted store shelves of the in-home tests, and exhausted local testing centers ability to keep pace with the demand for test appointment.
The other problem is the ongoing supply chain issues which have led to shortages of products on store shelves, and spiraling prices on everything from toilet paper, to cars, to food and gasoline.
Criminals are now selling fake Covid-19 tests, and stealing medical and personal information from unsuspecting consumers.
Scam Alert on note book.
