Concerts In The Park Are Back Starting May 2nd 2024

Civic Center Park Amphitheater will be filled with music and fun every Thursday night in May, as Palm Desert’s free Concerts in the Park series returns for five weeks of unforgettable entertainment. The concerts feature a diverse range of talented performers and tribute bands designed to please music lovers of all ages and tastes. Held every Thursday evening from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, the public is encouraged to bring chairs and picnic baskets, or enjoy delicious creations offered by food trucks parked by the amphitheater.

The excitement kicks off at the amphitheater on Thursday, May 2, with “Pretzel Logic,” recreating the sophisticated sounds of Steely Dan. The band’s amazing performers and authentic renditions are sure to leave the audience humming tunes that invoke memories of younger days.

The series continues with the following bands:

• May 9: Enjoy the “A-List,” a crowd-pleasing, high energy dance band playing the biggest hits of yesterday and today that will have you dancing on the lawn, which is encouraged! Neon colors, wild hair, and lots of eyeliner will be in style

• May 16: “The Reflexx” takes the amphitheater stage to perform New Wave favorites of the 80s, from bands like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, INXS, and more.

• May 23: Take a trip back in time to the beginnings of rock and roll with “The Dreamboats.” This internationally known group are as well known for their wild stage antics as they are for capturing both the iconic look and sound of the biggest 50s and 60s rock and pop pioneers.

• May 30: The series concludes with a little extra twang as “Country Nation” pays tribute to the biggest stars of modern country music, while also honoring the classics. Audience participation is a regular part of the show, so wear your boots and bring your friends for some line dancing!

Concerts take place at Palm Desert Civic Center Park from 7 pm to 8:30 pm and attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the shows. Food and beverage trucks are available one hour before each show. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited at Civic Center Park. A certified American Sign Language interpreter will sign every concert in the series. Guests who might benefit from that service are welcome to sit near the east side of the stage for best viewing.
