Coachella Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained In A Fire In Coachella On Halloween

A 43-year-old Coachella woman has died after being rushed to Arrowhead Burn Center in Colton on early in the morning on Halloween.

Arlene Avila suffered life-threatening burns just after midnight on Thursday  October 31st 2024 during a brush fire near 51st and Cesar Chavez Street in Coachella.

Avila died from her injuries at 8:15 Halloween night.

Cause of the fire is still unknown.  We don’t yet know if this was an accident or if some type of criminal activity was involved.
