The ongoing battle between the City of Palm Springs and College of the Desert has a new wrinkle.

Mayor Lisa Middleton has announced the City is suing the College for not complying with the California Public Records Act, and not providing the city with public documents when the city wanted them.

The City’s first request for those records was made in December 2021, and two more times since then.

All of this surrounds the proposed West Valley Campus of COD which is supposed to be built where the old Palm Springs Mall once stood on Tahquitz Canyon Way at Farrell Drive in Palm Springs.

COD officials say they can provide those documents on November 18th 2022.

The lawsuit has been filed in Riverside County Superior Court.
