CA Sticks With Taxing Tips

A last minute proposal before the end of the Legislative session on August 31st 2024, has been crushed.

In Sacramento, Republican State Senators tried to push amendments to exempt tips from being taxed as income in California.

But Democrats would not even bring the proposal up for consideration, preferring to collect tax on those tips as the state currently does.
