CA Lawmakers Had To Pass A Law To Keep The Booze Flowing At Fairgrounds In Indio

You know the score, times are tough, your luck is running low, you don’t know where to turn, and a cold beer seems like the solution, at least in the short term.

Well,  that does seem to be the solution for the Riverside County Fairbrounds in Indio, which will be able to continue serving alcohol whenever food service is available during the events at the Fairgrounds.

It’s all spelled out in California  Senate Bill 1224, now signed into law.

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control –ABC–has instituted a new policy which required the Fairgrounds to be a ‘bona fide eating place’, in order to secure an alcohol license.  Rollng in a few food trucks, trailers, catering companies did not pass muster with the ABC.

But with the new law, the Fairbrounds can keep serving alcohol as long as food is being served at the event as well.  There is no need for there to be a permanent restaurant facility at the Fairgrounds.
