CA Furiously Installing EV Chargers…Still Well Short Of The One Million Needed By 2030
California now has 150-thousand electric vehicle chargers along highways in the state.
The majority of those are made in China or assembled with parts made in China.
Most of the parts for those chargers are made of plastic…made from fossil fuels. More than 24-thousand chargers have been installed in California within the first six months of 2024.
It is estimated California will need one million EV charging stations by the year 2030.
So it will need to install 850-thousand EV charging stations in the next 5 and a half years.
Starting in 2035, little more than 10 years from now, California will mandate all new cars sold in the state to be zero emission vehicles.
The zero emission vehicles will leave California short in the revenue department because the state won’t be getting the windfall from the ever-increasing gasoline tax you pay at the pump.
This Tesla charging station, located near the Home Depot shopping center in Indio, was installed by the Imperial Irrigation District in 2023, in time for the popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
