One suspected DUI driver was arrested while another motorist was picked up on a felony warrant during a checkpoint in Palm Desert in late July 2021.
Deputies conducted the checkpoint from 7 p.m. Friday July 30th to 3 a.m. Saturday July 31st in the area of Cook Street and Country Club Drive.
Deputy Varon Potter said four drivers were also cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed. Potter said 745 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and 236 of the vehicles were screened for possible DUI.
Drivers arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol can spend time in jail and pay up to $13,500 in fines and legal fees.
