Brace Yourself; USC Says Gasoline Prices Will Spike In 2025
California State Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones of San Diego is warning Californians to start saving money now to cover the cost of anticipated increases in the price of gasoline in 2025.
The Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California has released its latest study results, showing gasoline prices in California could go up as much as 95 cents per gallon in 2025.
Jones argues the price hikes are part of plan by California Governor Gavin Newsom to force Californians to buy expensive electric vehicles because the cost of fueling up a gas-powered vehicle will become prohibitive.
The new study from USC estimates that several recent regulatory and market impacts could cause gas prices to spike 89 cents or more per gallon in 2025.
First there was the recent decision by The California Air Resources Board to tighten the Low Carbon Fuel Standard in the state, which could add 65 cents to the cost of a gallon of gasoline.
