A phony Riverside County tax preparer, who had no license to handle tax returns, has avoided jail time by agreeing to a plea bargain with the feds.
Instead, Patrick McCall gets just 1 year of home detention, five years probation, and he must serve 500 hours of community service.
He also has to pay back 400-thousand dollars to clients who did not know he was filing fraudulent federal income tax returns for them from 2012 to 2014.
