Blood Donor Shortage Continues; Lifestream Blood Bank Running On Empty

A lack of donors continues to plague Lifestream Blood Bank.
It has 2 donor centers in the Coachella Valley, and seven other donor centers throughout the Inland Empire, and donors are not busting down the doors to get into any of them.
Lifestream Blood Bank President, CEO, and Medical Director Ddr Rick Axelrod, says 245 blood donors are needed each day to fill the needs of the blood bank which provides blood products to hospitals across the region.
Currently, Lifestream has less than a 2 day supply of blood products on its shelves.
Lifestream has donor centers in San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, Victorville, Murrieta, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, Placentia and Hemet.
All blood types are critically needed.
A single whole blood donation can be used to save three lives.
Transplant recipients, trauma patients, and even new moms count on volunteer blood donors to help save their loved ones.
Eligibility requirements for all donors can be found at www.lstream.org/about-donating/who-can-donate/. All donors should be feeling healthy and well and present a current photo ID.
Walk-ins are welcomed, appointments are encouraged.
To make an appointment, call 800-879-4484 or visit LStream.org.
