Big Quake Hits Japan

There are no reports of major damage or injuries, following a 5.9 earthquake in Japan.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports it was a magnitude 5.9 quake with a depth of more than 38 miles.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency initially said it was a magnitude 6.1 quake. It hit an area east of Tokyo.

It hit around 1 in the morning, Friday October 8th 2021 in Japan, which is 8 a-m Thursday October 7th 2021 in California.
