A 19-year-old gang member remains jailed on more than one million dollars bail for firing gunshots at a family outside a Palm Springs Hotel.

Police are still looking for a 2nd suspect.

Ricardo Gomez of Desert Hot Springs has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder and assault with a semi-automatic firearm, with hate crime enhancements, because the intended victims were black.

But a man and a woman, and their 16 year old son were not hit by the bullets, when Gomez opened fire at 1:30 in the morning on Saturday August 4th near the Ivy Palm Resort and Spa on North Palm Canyon Drive, just north of Vista Chino.

Gomez is due back in court August 17th.
