Assistance Center Set Up For Victims Of Airport Fire; Firefighters Making Progress Against 3 Major Fires In SoCal
- The Line Fire is burning between Highland, Running Springs, and Angelus Oaks. As of 5 AM Thurs Sept 19th 2024 the fire has burned 39,231 acres, and is 51% contained. Justin Halstenberg remains in custody for starting the Line Fire, and possibly other fires as well.
Forest Closure –
- San Bernardino issued Forest Order NO. 05-12-00-24-09, creating a Forest Closure Area around the Line Fire. All National Forest lands, trails, and roads are closed to the public within that zone including San Gorgonio Wilderness
Road Closures:
- SR-330 closed in both directions from Highland Ave to Live Oak
In response to the Line Fire in Highland, Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa Rancho Mirage, is offering evacuated families off-market pricing on accommodations.
They have set aside a block of hotel rooms for residents displaced by wildfires. For reservations, please call 1-800-854-1279. Rooms are available on a first come first basis.

The Bridge Fire is burning in the San Gabriel Mountains between Glendora and Phelan. As of 5 AM Thurs Sept 19th 2024, the fire has burned 54,795 acres, and is 41% contained. The cause of The Bridge Fire is still unknown.

The Airport Fire is burning in the Santa Ana Mountains between Rancho Santa Margarita and Lake Elsinore in parts of Orange and Riverside Counties. As of 5 AM Thursday Sept 19th 2024 the fire has burned 23,519 acres and is 39% contained. The Airport Fire was accidentally ignited by a spark from a public works crew using heavy equipment.
The County of Riverside has established a Local Assistance Center (LAC) for residents impacted by the Airport Fire. The LAC provides important information and resources from an array of local, state, federal, and non-profit agencies in a single location for residents and businesses. This is an incredibly difficult time for our residents, and the LAC is there to bring them one step closer to recovery.
