Another Man Charged With Murder In Fentanyl Case

Back on April 7th 2023, just after 8 in the morning, deputies were called to a home on Piedras Road in Lake Mathews, which is southwest of Moreno Valley, between the 15 and 215 freeways.

That’s where they found 29-year-old Gorge Sandoval who was pronounced dead at the scene from fentanyl poisoning.

On June 2nd 2023, unrelated to the death of Gorge Sandoval, Riverside Police served a search warrant at the home of 28 year old John Sandoval in Jurupa Valley, and found about 4 and a half pounds of fentanyl. John Sandoval was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance for sale. On June 20th 2023, John Sandoval was convicted and released on probation.

On August 31st 2023, investigators with the Sheriffs Department arrested John Sandoval at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s station.

He is now jailed, and charged with the murder of Gorge Sandoval.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind citizens of the dangers of illicit narcotics, many of which may contain fentanyl. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 100 times stronger than morphine and can cause death or serious bodily harm.
