A stunning upset in the 2nd round at the U S Open, #3 seed Carlos Alcaraz loses in straight sets to Botic van de Zandschulp. Top seed Jannik Sinner, and #5 Daniil Medvedev, and American Tommy Paul, all won
Top seed Iga Swiatek won, so did Jessica Pegla who beat fellow Ameican Sofia Kenin, and 20 year old American Ashlyn Krueger also won.
Naomi Osaka lost.
Desirae Krawczyk of Palm Desert and her mixed doubles partner Neal Skupski, lost in a first round upset.
