Alcaraz & Swiatek Grab French Titles; Gauff/Siniakova Take Women’s Doubles Crown
At the French Open, there was little drama in the Men’s Final, though fans at least got what they paid for. Alexander Zverev was leading 2 sets to 1, before Carlos Alcaraz put his game into another gear, cruising to easy wins in the 4th and 5th sets to win the match and his first French Open crown at the age of just 21.
The match lasted more than 4 hours.
In the Women’s Final, Jasmine Paolini was no match for Iga Swiatek as Iga won her 3rd French Open title in a row, her 4th overall at Roland Garros, and her 5th Grand Slam, taking just one hour and 8 minutes to dispatch Paolini.
Desirae Krawczyk of Palm Desert fell short, falling in the Mixed Doubes and Women’s Doubles Finals. Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova won the Women’s Doubles title.
