The Riverside County Sheriff Department Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force has completed a month-long undercover investigation called Operation Intercept.
With help from the District Attorney Bureau of Investigations Riverside County Child Exploitation Team, deputies have arrested 25 people…an assortment of perverts, sexual predators and societal dregs.
Agents were looking for criminals who actively use social media to search for children to engage in lewd acts.
Task force members utilized covert social media platforms to communicate with potential child predators who were looking to engage in lewd acts with a minor under the age of 14.
Unknowingly, the suspects would arrange to meet the online undercover officer, who they thought was a child, with the intent of engaging in sexual activities.
And when they showed up at the agreed upon location, they were promptly arrested.
10 of the 25 suspects are from the Coachella Valley.
The other 15 are from around the Inland Empire and Los Angeles area.
