In case you need help getting your property ready for rain and snow, the Riverside County Emergency Management Department is offering it.
Among the suggestions from the county government, drive with caution because roads are wet and slippery.
If you see a foot of standing water, turn around, don’t drive through it.
If you live in a flood prone area, clear any debris away from drainage pipes and rain gutters around your home.
Use sandbags to prevent water from entering your home or business.
You can get sand and sandbags at the Mecca Community Center, and the Rummonds Senior Center in Thermal, and the Sheriffs stations in Palm Desert, Cabazon, Thermal, and Hemet.
And at County fire stations in Desert Hot Springs, Coachella, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Beaumont and Banning.
