I can't figure out why I continute to blog every out why I feel the need or the addiction. I do however..as you all know..I am on vacation this week. When I take a vacation...I never go anywhere! Sam is in school, Sue is at work..so its Jimi The Dog and me. I plan on doing alot of reading and hitting alot of golf balls in preperation for the golf tournament I am playing in starting Thursday..other than that..I cannot tell you how great it feels not to be a slave to the news, newspapers, websites and figuring out what to talk about for 3 hours a day. I have spoken with Marshall Gilbert several times and he is greatly excited about coming back on the 15th of September. I am also...it will be interesting to see how quickly we both adjust...me from doing the show by myself and Marshall from being away from radio for almost a year. I am sure it will come together quickly. We will be doing blogs..for the show and probably individually so stay tuned for those. If you have any ideas, authors, guests, topics..please feel free to e-mail me..whether I am on vacation or not..I am in the process of figuring out our first week on the air. PENALTIES ON DOG LICENSES WAIVED FOR MONTH

Riverside County residents who neglected to purchase a license for their dog or failed to renew a license now have a chance to get one without penalties. The Department of Animal Services is offering a penalty amnesty until February 29th. They typically assess a $25 penalty for an overdue license application, but that fee is waived. The amnesty applies only to pet owners in unincorporated communities, and those whose dogs have been altered.

The family plans to hold a car wash at the Burger King on Highway 111 in Indio tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to raise money to pay for funeral arrangements.

NEW CHAIRMAN OF HIGH-SPEED RAIL IS APPOINTED

The California High-Speed Rail authority has a new chairman. The board appointed Dan Richard to the position. Richard is Governor Brown's choice to lead the volatile project that's seen its price tag more than doubled since 2008. Construction on the first phase of the project is expected to begin in the Central Valley later this year.
