Animal Cruelty Case Heads To Court In May

A man charged with the deaths of a dozen dogs found inside a stolen U-Haul truck in Thousand Palms is free until his next court date on May 9th.

55 year old Douglas Yates is facing numerous felony counts of animal cruelty for the case involving the dogs and another case involving 9 cats he lweft inside  a public storage facility unit.

One of  those cats died.

Yates posted 10-thousand dollars bail.

He’s been ordered to stay away from animals.
